Enriching our Montessori Classroom

My students need a new art easel, wall shelvings for books to be displayed and a teaching easel for read alouds and other presentations.

My Students

I teach in a multi-age classroom of children between the ages of 3-6. Our school is one of the few public Montessori Schools in our city. My students are very active and enjoys different hands on activities.

"The first duty of an education is to stir up life, but leave it free to develop." These are Dr. Maria Montessori's words and I need your help to stir up my children's learning and entice their thirst for knowledge!

My Project

My students learn best through independent and reflective works. The materials that I am requesting will be a very good compliment to the existing Montessori materials that we already have. The art easel will provide our class a revitalized interest in creating new art works. Our existing easel had been over 10 years old! The one I am requesting is also made of acrylic to spark interest in still painting. The wall shelving is also made of acrylic so that books read aloud can be displayed in the book corner without obstruction. It will definitely entice reading interest! The teaching easel is needed because the one we have now is broken. The hinges came off, which makes it unstable. The one I am requesting is aesthetically beautiful and Montessori- inspired.

The Montessori classroom is considered to be an important aspect of my students' learning.

It is my responsibility to prepare and organize the learning environment to meet the needs and interests of the children as well as promote independence.
