Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my kindergarten class are beautifully diverse and need a library full of books that represent them and the other kinds of people they will meet in their lives. They need engaging books that make learning fun, promote social-emotional learning, and develop critical phonemic awareness skills. We are a Title 3 school, serving students who come from low-income families and we want to provide them with equal access and opportunities to learn.
Ultimately, my goal for this project is to provide my students with books that will help to cultivate a love of literature within each and every one of them.
The books that I've included in my project teach about diversity, inclusion, and kindness. I've also chosen books that will captivate my students to spark interest in subjects such as science, language arts, math, technology, social studies, and more.
