Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is formed by a diverse and energetic group of students. They all possess leadership qualities and brilliance. They like to read and discuss texts. Their previous test results have not done justice to them.
This year we will be working hard to reach our academic goals in mathematics while also demonstrating growth in reading.
We will accomplish this while also maintaining a positive classroom environment where students can also express themselves through arts (dance, theater, and visual) and other fun activities.
My Project
I would be able to have more engaging guided instruction with the math manipulatives. Students will be able to make deeper connections with lessons with these manipulatives. Centers will also be more fun and engaging with the math games. Lastly, students will be able to pick more varieties of books in their reading level and be inspired to read more complex texts with their own reading boxes. These boxes will also be used to promote note-taking with added note pads and will help students take ownership of their reading stamina with personal reading trackers.
The math supports and book bins will make math and reading more personally engaging and enjoyable.
Students will be able to learn math facts and make sense of abstract mathematical concepts and unwind while also developing their reading and writing skills by reading rich literature from their own book boxes.
