Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal for this project is for my students to have quality literacy learning materials to work with during small groups time. Learning should be fun and by having these hands- on opportunities, my students will be able to practice what we are learning in class. The students will build on their literacy skills that will help them become successful readers and writers. Not only will the students practice important literacy skills, but they will learn to work together and build on their own confidence.

Literacy can be hard and difficult for some students, so by having hands-on learning materials it will help my students gain confidence and motivation to see learning in a different way.

It will also help the students continue to develop their communication skills, strategic thinking, problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

The writing flip books and writing prompts will help my students with their writing and creative skills. They will be able to create stories and help their confidence in writing. This will help them be able to create and write more fluently. The Library Mouse books will help them grow their love for reading and encourage them to write creative stories. The reading games will help them practice our reading skills like comprehension. It will help them understand more of the stories they read in class. The phonics games will help them strengthen important phonics skills that they need to be good readers. All the materials will be helpful for my students to know that reading can be exciting and fun. Reading success is very important for everyone, especially in the young elementary years. By helping me fund this project, it will help my students get excited to learn and practice their literacy skills in a meaningful way.
