Help me give my students to use what they are learning in class in CAD and circuits to make something with their own hands, as well as acrylic sheets, which are the most important supplies for laser cutting.
I want my students to use what they are learning in class in CAD (Computer Aided Design) and what they learn in Tinkercad about circuits to make something with their own hands that they can take home and be proud of. They learn so much in my class and they work so hard, and they deserve to have something other than a good grade and a certificate of achievement.
I want them to be inspired to pursue a STEM career.
I want them to have a trophy for their work in CAD and circuits that they can show off and be proud of. I have mostly underrepresented populations, and many of them just do not think they are smart enough to pursue a degree in engineering. They are wrong.
With these supplies, including batteries and switches, we will make LED sign lamps. They will design the base themselves in CAD and 3D print it. They will design something artistic for the acrylic topper and laser-cut it themselves. Lastly, they will calculate and wire the LED circuit and install it.
