My Project

This year we have children of all abilities who are very curious and love to play. This is their first experience with school, and our class is set up in a way to keeps students engaged and learning!

The materials chosen for this project will not only bring interaction and exploration into our ECSE classroom but also fit into the themes we teach throughout the year while keeping my friends safe at school!

The hands-on manipulatives will help our students strengthen hand muscles for future writing. The thematic tabletop puzzles and manipulatives will expand vocabulary. The magnetic train and animals will allow for imaginative play while also building fine motor skills. Keeping materials thematic helps develop oral language and gives my students opportunities to extend what they are learning into the real world.

The various papers, velcro, pockets, and textured tapes are carefully chosen as we build and create books for students who are visually impaired, as well as meet the vast array of sensory needs within our classroom. The safe foam mats will help keep our students safe while exploring in centers and classroom areas.

Investing in Early Childhood Special Education helps our youngest learners with disabilities to truly reach their fullest potential.
