Enhancing Writing Through Technology

My students need a document camera and Bluetooth speakers to enhance our writing workshops.

My Students

Writer's write more freely when the conditions are right. Our speaker broke and the sound on my ipad just isn't cutting it! We love to share our work, but it's hard if everyone can't see.

My students are a lively bunch of second graders with a diverse set of learning strengths and struggles.

One thing they all have in common is a love for learning and working together to deepen their experience. My students love to collaborate in all subject areas, but are especially excited to share their ideas in writing.

My Project

Our writing workshops are usually accompanied by a soundtrack of classical music, which my students enjoy. Unfortunately, the sound quality coming from the ipad is not quite loud enough for them to enjoy. A speaker to broadcast their favorite sounds will help them focus on their writing. My students enjoy working together and learning from each other, peer editing and review is a part of that writing process and students can share their drafts as well as celebrate their published pieces with the whole class with the use of the document reader.

By donating to this project, you are helping enhance the overall learning experience of my students.

Learning is not just about the product, but the process. If students feel relaxed and comfortable, inspired and cared for, they will be more successful. Providing them with access to the music they love and the resources to share their work is taking their learning to that next level!
