My Project
My students with severe disabilities are currently in high school and require specialized support to develop the necessary life skills for their future independence. Providing them with appropriate classroom resources can have a significant impact on their confidence and mental well-being.
Many of my students struggle with confidence in their daily life skills.
However, we have observed a remarkable improvement in their self-assurance through activities such as cooking. Empowering students with this sense of independence and freedom has had a tremendously positive effect on their mental health.
By equipping my classroom with the necessary supplies to facilitate these life skills-focused lessons, I aim to continue fostering my students' confidence and autonomy. Engaging in hands-on, practical tasks not only helps them acquire essential skills for everyday living but also boosts their self-esteem and overall emotional well-being.
Investing in resources that support my students' development of independent living skills can have far-reaching benefits for their future success and quality of life.
