Enhancing STEM Learning

My Project

This project is specific to a new class that our eighth graders will get to experience for the first time. I have chosen to focus on two main skills that they tend to struggle with in the Science and Math classrooms.

Students will get to reinforce Newton's Laws of Motion through a NASCAR-themed experience.

They will be building cars and testing them in races themed for friction, inertia, and acceleration. Students will experience learning in a fun, engaging way while also teaching important principles of science.

Their second unit will be specific to scale drawings in these journals. Students will be designing a dream home. After designing the home, they will build the home to the scale of their choice, reinforcing their skills in measurements and calculations.

Finally, the cabinet on this project will be for storing all of the materials. I want the students to be able to access the resources they need in a location that they can get to safely!
