Enhancing Participation in Physical Education with an Adapted Trike!

Help me give my students an adapted tricycle to use in their adapted physical education class for exercise, coordination, and motor learning!

My Project

Our special education students are amazing! They are motivated to move and participate in a small group, self-contained gym setting where many activities are modified for their specific needs.

We have many standard tricycles for our younger students to utilize; however, they quickly outgrow them.

Having an adapted tricycle that can grow with a child and be used by many students who may have challenges with balance and strength, will help our children to be able to continue to be active and participate in a preferred activity in the gym.

Evidence-based research has determined that learning to pedal or ride an adapted tricycle also assists children with executive functioning skills.
