This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a 4th and 5th grade Title I campus. Due to the loss of our music specialist, the regular education teachers are attempting to meet the musical needs of our students.
We believe the Eric Jensen research that shows the value of learning to play an instrument and how it helps to develop brain function. We'd like to test the theory, but we don't have any funding.
The recorder is a simple instrument that our 4th and 5th grade students could play and enjoy, but we don't have the money to purchase 75 of them.
Please give us the chance to challenge our students (and ourselves) to fully develop their intellectual and musical capabilities. Recorders would be so much fun!
