This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My PreK classroom is a vibrant, hands-on learning environment where students can explore and become life-long learners. Some of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imagination. I want my students to fall in love with reading, science and math. I want to keep them engage.
I have 18 wonderful, fun, loving PRE-K students, who are learning two languages English and Spanish.
I have 9 boys and 9 girls. They come to school ready to learn each day. In the morning they are so enthusiastic about their daily activities in school. They love to read, write, play, and draw and they amaze me everyday with their ideas and questions. They love to build and create beautiful structures using blocks, and colored cubes. Each day they surprise me with a beautiful drawing and painting. They love to take part in class discussions and love to sing and dance to various song that they learn throughout each unit.

My Project
We will learn all about insects. We will engage in hands-on learning by observing live insects in our classroom, and we will care for our new class pets. We will focus on how insects live, where they live, what makes them unique, and how they affect our environment. We will read a variety of informational texts and fiction books about plants and insects. We will distinguish between fact and fiction. Furthermore, we will learn about the different parts and functions of a plant and the life cycle of insects. We will continue to work on identifying, counting numbers, learning how to create word problems involving simple addition and subtraction. In addition, students will be able to learn about the “Cinco de Mayo" festivity through various nonfiction text and enhance their Spanish skills. The magnet tiles and building toys give children the opportunity to learn about science, and enhance their creativity. It will promotes hand-eye coordination and motor development.
My students would have the opportunity to experience and learn about insects and how they are important to our environment.
Students will continue to enhance their reading, writing, Spanish and math skills. During outdoor play students we be able to engage different hands on sensory experience using different types of balls of exciting textures and beautiful colors. The magnet tiles and building toys help them enhance collaborative skills, creativity, perseverance and problem solving skills.
