Enhancing Our Literacy Skills With Touch Tone Texts
My students need interactive read-alouds and touch tone texts to help them build their literacy skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. G.'s classroom raised $395

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently teaching third grade. My class is a self-contained ESL class. I play the role of both classroom and ESL teacher. My students are all English Language Learners. They come from different backgrounds, but they all share a great love and passion for learning.
Although my students share a great interest in learning, due to the most recent and ongoing budget cuts, we lack the resources to support our literacy program.
Through engaging, fun, motivating, cultural, language-rich interactive read-alouds, and touch tone texts my students will be able to build both their literacy and language skills. I have requested children's books recommended by The Teachers' College Reading and Writing Project (Literacy model implemented at our school) that support the units of study in both Reading and Writing workshops. In addition, I have requested multicultural children's books which tell stories that my students can identify with for example: The Name Jar, and The Upside Down Boy.
Your cooperation will make it possible for my students to perform to the best of their abilities and thus reach their potential.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
