My Project

I propose to enrich my math intervention program with essential manipulatives to foster a deeper understanding of numeracy concepts among students. With a focus on accessibility and engagement, I aim to introduce abacuses, mini abacuses, and tens frames into the curriculum. These tactile tools will provide concrete representations of abstract mathematical ideas, supporting diverse learning styles and facilitating hands-on exploration.

Research underscores the effectiveness of manipulatives in enhancing mathematical understanding, particularly in foundational concepts like counting, place value, and arithmetic operations.

Manipulatives engage multiple senses, allowing students to visualize and manipulate mathematical concepts, which can lead to deeper comprehension and retention.

The integration of these manipulatives will cater to diverse learning needs, fostering a supportive learning environment where students can actively engage with mathematical concepts. By providing hands-on experiences, I anticipate an increase in students' confidence, motivation, and proficiency in numeracy skills, ultimately leading to improved academic outcomes.
