My Project

Our District is one that focuses on the socio-emotional and mental issues that impact the learning of our students. Since Covid-19, mental health issues have been rising at an alarming rate. Child abuse and homelessness amongst our students increased astronomically. With all of these things impacting the students, it is important to remember that humans think and learn better when their situations are not what they have to focus on. This updated math classroom full of warm resources will help provide a better learning experience for the students. It won't remove or solve their issues, but it will provide some form of relief knowing that they have a safe space for the time that they are in my class where they can put aside their worries and learn at the same time. With these updated supplies, we can be more productive and enhance the learning experience. With these supplies, we can have better emotional support for the students who are nervous in the math classroom.

The air fryer will be used to provide students with hot meals, especially in the morning, because kids can't learn if their stomachs are taking over their minds.

The towels and blankets will be set up in an area in the class accessible to the students who need to take sensory breaks or just need a quiet space to themselves. The massager is for the students who are homeless mostly because they have shared that they do a lot of walking to figure out where to stay each night.

Thank you so much for your support! I know the students will appreciate it and I know that they will love learning in my class even more now. I'm always looking to enhance the students' learning experience with emotional support options.
