Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students generally come from low-income families that live around the school neighborhood located in City Heights, San Diego. Most of my students are African Americans and Latinos, followed by students from the Pacific Islands or Asian backgrounds. Our school is a unique place. The school has a great percentage of students with special needs. Therefore, our school needs to be equipped with technological devices, lab tools and materials, and other resources that would guarantee that all students have what they need to learn and succeed adequately.
We need your cooperation in order to supply our classroom with VR headsets.
Our 8th grade students would enjoy educational narratives and documentaries through virtual reality, which would enhance their learning experience.
My Project
The use of Oculus Go headsets will greatly be beneficial for the STEAM science education of all my students. For instance, I want my students to get familiarized with the new advantages of technology and develop skills along the way.
Having an equipment that offers enhanced description of the world, e.g., Google Earth and Discovery Education applications, as well as increasing the engagement and learning of our visual leaners is priceless.
I believe that VR headsets would effectively fill the gaps when it comes to the appreciation of scientific education that requires specific descriptions of remote phenomenas around the world.
