This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a proud teacher of high school math students at CCHS. We have one of the most diverse student population on the nation. In addition to learning about the content, they are also learning about their cultural and ethnic diversity of their peers and teachers. Each student comes with unique challenges and personality which contributes to our overall diversity and creates a well rounded community.
My students are very curious about mathematics but also the connection to the real world.
They are eager to learn and increase their knowledge and understanding. I love to share with them the beauty and importance of math.
My Project
An iPad Pro would help me to differentiate instruction for my diverse learners. In addition, it will provide more opportunities for engagement. They will be used to improve instruction during distance learning. An iPad Pro would help my instruction by helping me better organize their notes and additional resources to help their understanding. Furthermore, an iPad Pro comes with many applications and resources that can help to capture students' attention and engagement.
The technology of the iPad when combined with zoom and our online platforms provides an easy way for me to share and highlight instruction, provide 24/7 support to my students, and quickly provide feedback on student work.
My ideal lesson with this technology would allow me to better organize students notes. Instead of worrying about having all these platforms open in addition to the powerpoint I can use the iPad to just focus on presenting the notes. I can use the pen to clearly write the notes and highlight any important information. I would use it to highlight formulas and clearly write word problems.
