I teach 7th-grade students in a large public middle school in a smaller city. Despite the size of the school, many of the students and families have known each other since kindergarten.
Our classroom is a community of math learners who relish the opportunity to investigate rich, mathematical challenges and find creative solutions to these problems.
In the course of a year, they are accelerating through both the 7th and 8th-grade math curriculum while completing 3D design projects and other STEM enrichment activities. They are extremely self-motivated learners, who crave opportunities to expand their experiences and skillsets.
The students in my class come from very diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Approximately 40% of the students in my school live in poverty. This means that a large number of our students face the challenges of poverty, but not a large enough percentage for our school to receive additional funding to support their specialized needs. All of my students receive special education services for gifted students.
My Project
Please help me buy premium subscriptions to Edulastic and Delta Math to benefit my students. Delta math is a powerful online practice tool that helps provide my students with customizable practice assignments with real-time feedback and answer explanations. Edulastic gives me the ability to access high-quality question banks and create my own assignments based on the standards and concepts being taught in class. In addition, it has many built-in tools that allow students to create graphs, order and match concepts, sequence steps, and solve equations on their school-issued Chromebooks.
Access to the enhanced online services will help provide my students with personalized video tutorials, answer checking, problem examples and explanations, individualized assignments, read-aloud functions, and much more!
In addition to the enhanced student features, the premium versions allow me to collect and analyze relevant data to drive instruction, the ability to collaborate with other teachers, and additional question types for assignments and assessments.
