My Students
My students all come from a small, very low socioeconomic, rural community. Many students have gone through unimaginable circumstances. They come to school looking for that safe place to be loved and to feel comfortable. I strive to give my students the highest quality of education they deserve, and these different intervention games and kits will be the perfect addition to our small group lessons.
This year's students haven't had a normal school year since kindergarten.
First grade was when the pandemic began. Second grade consisted of mask-wearing, social distancing, and lots of quarantining throughout the year! This year we are somewhat getting back to normal education, but I'm realizing how far behind the majority of my students are academically. I need some amazing intervention games, books, and educational tools to help these third graders be successful and ready for fourth grade.
My Project
My students, like all students, get bored with the typical paper-pencil intervention small group lessons! These different comprehension kits, phonics lessons, and math games will enhance my students' desire to participate and be engaged during their intervention time. My students love matching games and hands-on learning.
Most of my students are still striving to be on grade level since the pandemic started.
I really believe by using these different kits, I will be better equipped to get them where they need to be academically, and prepared for the all-important state test in April!
