My Students

My students are from two very rural communities and the school can be considered a "frontier school." Most of them have lived here their whole life and many believe that because our school is so small that we will never have the best equipment. It's almost accepted that they are destined for mediocrity in all things. They love being active in sports and outdoor activities and many are hard-working farm kids. I want them to realize that they are worth so much more and that there are people who want them to succeed and to achieve great things.

My Project

These exercise mats will provide needed protection for our students while we are working out. During almost every workout we do in Physical Education, the number one question I receive is "Can't we have exercise mats?"

Everybody deserves the proper equipment to ensure that they can enjoy the physical activity they are performing.

These mats will help them enjoy it more and they will be more likely to maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout their lives.

These mats will help us perform yoga, pilates, and many other core-centered activities. These are essential activities because they can provide a life-time of benefits and it begins with having the right equipment.
