Freshman need to move forward. I teach two double period freshman English classes for the Law Academy at my school and integrate various aspects of law into the curriculum. Part of this is having students work in groups and give presentations to learn social, and public speaking skills. As the coach for Moot Court/ Mock Trial, this also helps me find recruits for my team.
Choices/decisions/consequence are a concept and theme of my curriculum. Students are lacking the supplies necessary to create this and other charts we create in class and work on individually and in groups.
Using chart papers, markers, white erase board and pencils, students can outline what they plan to write and use the white board to add additional information during their presentations.
Students need to learn how to work well with others and present themselves to a group in a manner that conveys their ideas in a coherent and convincing manner. The activities done in my class will prepare my students by giving them the practice they need to prepare for their future endeavors.
