This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom burned down last year and many people joined together to help my students out. However, we are still lacking comfortable small group seating for our guided reading and math table.
My students come from all different backgrounds.
Over 80 percent of the students at our school receive free or reduced-price lunches. Many students speak languages other than English at home. They love math and reading and take pride in our classroom and would enjoy comfortable, attractive small group seating.
My Project
Currently, my students sit on uncomfortable five gallon buckets for their small-group seating- simply because these buckets are easier to maneuver around a small table than leggy chairs. They don't get tangled and take up less space. My students would benefit more from chairs designed with kids in mind. The ergonomic wiggle chairs would increase comfort and concentration during small-group time.
My students would undoubtedly appreciate having comfortable chairs to sit in while learning.
I have put a lot of hard work and thought into my classroom, and to have my small group table reflect my passion for creating a fun, comfortable, functional learning environment would mean so much to me and my students. Thank you for considering giving to my project.
