My Project
I always tell my English language learning students the inspiring story of my husband's grandmother who learned English simply reading the Sherlock Holmes series and using a dictionary.
Learning how words are used are essential for language acquisition. Often times students are accustomed to using a translator which doesn't help them understand the word usage nor help in recollecting the word later.
I learned 2 foreign languages without a translator and I continue to acquire word definitions instead of translations to enrich my fluency. I want to be able to provide that opportunity in my classroom.
This classroom project was brought to life by CFP Foundation Extra Yard for Teachers Week
and 4 other donors.
