This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the pleasure of helping middle school language learners develop excellent academic English skills in pursuit of life-long success. A powerful way to do this is by utilizing highly-engaging and language rich novels.

English language learners love to read captivating stories that challenge and inspire them!

For that reason, I am requesting a class set of the popular novel: "The Help." Not only is this a well-written story, it also highlights some American history that leads to thoughtful and valuable academic conversations among language learning students, allowing them to grow in language skills as well as cultural knowledge.
