Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a librarian in a California, low-income community. The school consists of a majority of second language learners struggling to read at grade level.

May students struggle to learn to read. My students struggle learning to read and learn English. Using a listening center allows students to read the text and hear the language fluency simultaneously.

Having listening centers available to students is HUGE! Giving them the opportunity to hear fluent English and read along gives them the exposure to language they need to become fluent in speaking English.

Your help will ensure my students exposure to the English language. Their fluency and confidence in reading will only grow through the use of a listening center!
