My Project
Hello!
I am seeking donations of binders, basic art supplies, and a drawing tablet to support my Literature/Composition and English Language Learner (ELL) students in creating posters, portfolios, and video lessons.
These materials will have a profound impact on their learning by providing hands-on, creative ways to engage with literature and language development.
Binders will help students organize their work into portfolios, allowing them to track their progress and reflect on their growth. Art supplies will enable them to visually express their understanding of themes, characters, and personal narratives through posters and projects. A drawing tablet will open up digital opportunities, with creating online interactive lectures for students who are unable to attend due to illness or family responsibilities.
My goal for this project is to provide my students with engaging, multimodal learning experiences that make reading, writing, and language acquisition more interactive and accessible. Many of my students are multilingual learners who benefit from visual and hands-on activities that connect their ideas to words. By incorporating creative projects, I am better able to meet students where they are, deepening their comprehension, strengthen their communication skills, and take pride in their work.
What makes my students special is their perseverance and unique perspectives. Many are navigating a new language and culture while striving to succeed academically. Despite these challenges, they bring incredible creativity, determination, and diverse experiences to our classroom. With your help, they will have the tools to express themselves, build confidence, and create meaningful work that showcases their growth as learners and storytellers.
