Help me give my students a coding experience that will help them become engineers of the future with the help of Lego Prime Spike kit and Sphero Bolt robot.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Knox's classroom raised $958
This project is fully funded
My Project
I teach fourth grade math. My classroom consists of African Americans and English Language Learners (ELLs) from diverse backgrounds. I heard about this wonderful opportunity at the University of Detroit computer science professional development hosted by Detroit Public Schools. I believe this donation will help with giving my inner city and English Language Learners different options in education that probably could not happen without such a donation that targets helping children.
The purpose of this proposal is to have projects that engage emerging ELLs and low-income students from different backgrounds in Computer Science and Computer Technology.
My goal is to receive a Lego Spike Prime set and a Sphero Bolt robot, and have my students program the Sphero Bolt robot ball and the robot made from the Lego set with coding. They will use the Sphero and the Lego robot to learn about directions and angles that will extend their learning about degrees, right angles, straight angles, fourth turns, half turns, etc.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
