Help me give my students the Leggo Duplos and the building plates. This will allow them to create structures as they cooperate with one another and exchange ideas as they become "engineers" and build "castles" and "bridges".
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students that I serve have delays in at least two areas of development. They may have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD etc. We are a Title I school which serves students of low income families.
The majority of our students receive free breakfast, reduced and/or free lunch.
They have limited resources and will greatly benefit from the use resources and materials that will help them in the areas of communication, social-emotional, and cognitive as well as others depending on their individual needs. These materials will maximize their education and allow them to grasp the concept of the world around them and abroad.
My Project
As the students plan for work time, they can express what they plan to build and with who they will create their structures. They will be able to work together and build as they work together using spatial sense and will create new structures, learning and using positional words. They will compare structures as they express their similarities and their differences and if they need to implement new changes to their structures.
In conclusion, by using these materials my students will work cooperatively, express their ideas and create a variety of structures as they practice being "engineers" and grow together.
