My Students

I teach 4th grade in a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. My students are bright, eager to learn, and full of hopes and dreams. They come from a variety of backgrounds and work together in pairs, small groups, and individually to show mastery in math and science. This is my 26th year as an educator and I hope to provide this group with experiences they will forever remember!

I want this group of students to apply their skills to higher level thinking and problem solving while self-monitoring their own progress by collecting his/her own data.

Students will work individually, with partners, and in small groups as they apply these skills.

My Project

This project would give my students the opportunity to see the relevance that learning in the classroom can and does impact the real world that they live in. This project, To the Rescue: Engineering Aid Drop Packages will allow my students to analyze a potential real situation and work collaboratively to attack the problem and use their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics to develop a product bundle that will meet all stipulations of the project. This is a 3X match offer, so donors will only need to raise one-third of the funds in order to fund the project fully!
