Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is composed of 27 high energy, curious, smart, and dynamic students who love STEM challenges. I have noticed that many of my students are stimulated by hands-on activities. Though they have a high interest in STEM, they need more opportunities of working together to take on challenges and make group decisions.
100% of students at our school are eligible for the Free Lunch Program, and about 30% are identified as English Language Learners.
Despite these potential obstacles, my students are determined to achieve their goals.
My Project
The Engineering Aid Drop Packages bundle will provide the resources necessary to give my students awesome learning opportunities. Situated within a real-life humanitarian scenario, students will work in groups to collaboratively engineer emergency aid drop packages to those in need. These activities will truly intertwine the humanities with STEM.
This Engineering Aid Drop Packages bundle will provide an engaging, stimulating, and thought-provoking learning opportunity for my students.
This project will promote innovative design, computational thinking, and knowledge construction. These skills are identified in the International Society for Technology and in Education (ISTE) standards. In addition, this program is of high-interest to students.
