Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are full of energy and curiosity! They are five and six year olds who come to school excited to learn. I try to make learning fun and engaging as they learn through play. For some of my students kindergarten is their first school experience which means that they come with different skills and abilities.
I believe that every child can learn at their own developmental pace.
My goal as their teacher is to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences in a positive and safe environment.
My Project
Can you imagine incorporating science, technology, engineering and math skills (STEM) using favorite fairy tale characters? My students will develop problem-solving skills independently and in teams. They will make a plan, create and test solutions to help a prince scale a tower to rescue Rapunzel and getting the Gingerbread Man across a river.
They will discover the STEM in their favorite fairy tales!
These kits will inspire them to explore each challenging situation until they find a solution.
My students will also design a house that can’t be blown down, construct a bridge that keeps three goats safe from the troll and build a chair even Goldilocks can’t break!
