Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day my students walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title I school in Los Angeles, CA, where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can, so they can be successful one day.
My Project
My second grade students enjoy working on their engineering and problem solving skills. These STEM materials will allow my students to work on their STEM skills while improving classroom community. It will improve their teamwork skills, language skills and be a wonderful addition to our science center in our classroom.
Building roller coasters, vehicles, bridges, houses, and creating chain reactions will be such fun and highly engaging ways to practice these important, lifelong skills.
These new materials will give my students time to practice their STEM goals and give them hands on experiences to deepen their learning. I look forward to seeing the learning that will take place in my classroom once we have these materials.
