My students need a Design & Build Engineering Center, Magnetic Easel, Chain Reaction STEM Kit, and Engineer-A-Coaster Kit to engage in engineering/problem-solving projects during science.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Garcia's classroom raised $446
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remarkable, brave and strong willed - are just a few words to describe my students. I work in a low income community with students of special needs. All of my students are on the Autism Spectrum and live in an urban community. They are constantly overwhelmed with sensory input with outside of cars, people, construction, buses, metros, businesses but despite everything going around they come to school ready to learn with big smiles on their faces. They enjoy science/engineering and love to do anything that is hands-on.
My Project
Filled with project-based activities that encourage collaborative problem solving, this comprehensive kit introduces STEM projects at a level that’s just right for my students! I would love to make my classroom more engaging and hands-on for my students and this kit provides just that. It will challenge them to use their engineering and problem-solving skills. These STEM kits and magnetic stand-up whiteboard will allow my students to plan out projects,
They will build roller coasters, vehicles, bridges, houses, and create chain reactions which will not only be fun, but highly engaging.
With the use of these materials my students will be able to practice not only problem solving, but communication during team/partner work, which are lifelong skills.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
