My Students

Welcome to a 3rd grade, bilingual classroom full of hard-working, enthusiastic students!
My bilingual classroom is the landing spot for 3rd graders who have just arrived in the United States. My students are incredibly hard workers who always come to school ready to learn, no matter what is going on outside of the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to provide my students with all that they need to be successful learners.
My Project
My students love STEM. Their favorite part of the week is their weekly STEM Friday Challenge, in which they must work collaboratively to solve a real-world problem. Now, my students will have even more opportunities to solve real-world problems in their after-school class. This kit would allow my students to further their learning about natural disasters and how aid organizations plan their responses to help as many survivors as possible.
This EiE kit will allow my students to solve a real-world problem in their after-school class, and tie into what they are studying during the school day.
Our school is using Engineering is Elementary Kits in these after-school classes. However, due to budget issues, many classes are sharing kits and materials, so students may not be able to complete individual projects. This kit would allow my students to further their learning about natural disasters and how aid organizations plan their responses to help as many survivors as possible. Having this new kit will also allow each student in my class to create their own unique final product, and use their knowledge in a new way.
