Help me give my students the experience of engineering to connect math concepts to real world career paths!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Smith's classroom raised $256
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach in a small district and am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade. This year I am with some of my previous students from 4th grade. 5th grade is such a magical year where students are defining their independence and exploring their place in the world.
My students are animated, thoughtful and deeply curious about the lives and experiences of others.
For the first time my students are from two schools who have come together to unify in a full-inclusion school. Students come from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds that enriches the culture of our class community.
The students are most engaged in learning when they are engaged in hands on activities that relate to real life experiences.
My Project
These engineering projects will give my students the hands on building and problem solving experience they're craving. As they continue transitioning to class routines and school expectations after their remote learning experience, students are in need of engaging hands on projects.
Now, more than ever, students need practice communicating, collaborating, and problem solving.
Engineering projects like these will build confidence in their abilities to work as a team or partnership to achieve a common goal. Students will read and follow assemblage directions. They will practice agreeing on how to interpret the directions. They will exercise their fine motor skills assembling the parts.
Supporting this project will give my students what they are asking for and what they need.
