This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic and ready to explore and dive deep into learning. We have been working hard to build their confidence and reading ability but still have many who struggle. Our goal is to get all of our students engaged in ELA using a variety of resources to help build their background knowledge, stamina, confidence and love of literacy. Allowing our students the opportunity to access a variety of resources will help them see that we need to learn reading for every day life!
My Project
Literacy has long been a challenge for many of our students. Tablets will allow the opportunity for small groups of students to have access to virtual field trips, reading intervention lessons, and help make learning more student-centered. This will allow for us to cut down on the number of paper copies that are made while also allowing greater access to interesting texts and content for the students to use in their learning. By making learning engaging for the students, we can begin to close the achievement gap and help our students be successful life long learner's. Providing technology skills at an early age will help them be successful later in life as well!
