This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love going to school because they feel safe in a structured classroom. My students thrive when given structures and routines. Many of my students have shared the same class for the past 4-5 years. They are caring friends to one another. My ultimate goal is to create a comfortable, engaging environment for my students to maximize their learning. I am slowly making changes in my classroom to help them feel safe.

All of my students are on the Autism Spectrum and require a lot of accommodations to make it through the day successfully.

They are eager to learn and show great pride in their work when they see their progress.

My Project

As a SpEd teacher, I would like to encourage my students to love the art of writing and also keep them engage while doing so. The materials that I've chosen will give my students access to supplemental materials that are needed to reach their writing goals. I will be able to print supplemental materials using black and color ink.

Students will also be able to use their own whiteboards to respond to questions during our reading groups.

Again, this will encourage students to write as they love using whiteboards. Having an area to keep these materials organized is also great for my students to access them independently.
