Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am always looking for new games, activities, and ways for me to make the English and world language classrooms more exciting and engaging. To help engage students in my classroom, I am looking to get whiteboard responders and an interactive essay writing program. The English and world language classrooms on their own can be tiresome and a little boring, and I see students struggle when teachers roll out heavy content work with no fun activities. However, I have also seen many colleagues having success using whiteboard responders as a way to keep students engaged in their lessons in all different classrooms, from math, history, and science, and I want to start using them in my English and world language classrooms. Not only will it engage my students, but it is also a great way for me to informally collect data and check student understanding. This way, I can quickly know who needs more help and support and who is ready for more challenging work.
