This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class this year is already a truly engaged class, and they love to learn. Your donation towards a subscription to BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. will enable engaging learning to occur as they watch videos about famous Americans, like Rosa Parks, or special cultural celebrations like Diwali in which we then would have discussions. The next day I would start my morning meeting with a video about mindfulness and we may do a breathing exercise to follow up before we start our day. If there is a Science lesson that involves erosion, I would play the video about erosion to give them another aspect of what it might look like, they could take notes and discuss what they saw.

If a student is new to our classroom and is learning English, BrainPOP is perfect because it is visual and auditory. We will use the videos to have class discussions and learn in meaningful and engaging ways that are fun and memorable.
