My Project
My 4th and 5th grade students are in the gifted and talented program and I am constantly looking for books that will challenge them as well as keep their interest. Finding a book that does both is something I am always on the hunt for. They especially love books that are relatable and relevant to what is currently going on in our world.
That is how I came across Attack of the Black Rectangles, a story involving 6th grade students and their fight against censorship in their classroom.
I have heard so many good things about this book from other students and teachers and would love to have enough copies of it to do a book study. Teaching students how to think for themselves and go about issues in a respectful and passionate way is very important to me as an educator.
