My students need leveled books for their classroom library. These books will be used during independent reading and allow students to have more reading materials in the classroom.

My Students
The students at my school come from a diverse community. Our goal as a community and staff is to immerse students in the different cultures that our students come from. We have a large ELL population and we know it is important that they learn English, but also keep their home language strong, too.
The 1st grade students are hardworking, respectful and willing to try difficult tasks in order to achieve a set goal.
Our school serves students K-5 and provides a well rounded education. All the teachers strive to do what they can and will take extra steps to help their students. About 37% of the students are on free or reduced lunch.
My Project
The books I have requested are for struggling readers, giving them more books to read in the classroom so they are more engaged during read-to-self. We have minimal books at these particular levels in the classroom and I would love to add more options to the classroom.
These books will be used daily in class and students will be able to take comprehension tests, which will enhance their reading skills.
I want to engage my struggling readers and it is difficult right now because I don't have a ton of books at the level they need in the classroom so they are reading the same books over and over again.
