This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Using manipulatives helps the students in my extensive special needs class engage with their lessons. Hands on activities makes learning possible for many of the students in my class that have physical and cognitive challenges. Sometimes touching or holding letters of the alphabet or brightly colored counting bears, is just what my students may need to make a connection with a lesson or activity. Sometimes taking time out to move and jump on a mini trampoline can calm frustrations or relieve anxiety so that learning can take place. My students and I enjoy exploring new ways of learning to meet their unique and individual needs.
