Help me give my students the best possible math and science instruction during our remote learning process. With an iPad and an Apple Pencil, I will be able to teach like being at home wasn't an obstacle!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I absolutely love teaching preteens! Currently, I am teaching Math and Science to two sections of sixth graders in an urban school district.
In each section there is a suggested maximum of 33 students; however, there are some years that I have had more.
Currently for this academic year, I have a total of 56 between both classes. Both classes include a mixture of Special Education students and English language learners (ELL) students.
The range of math abilities amongst my 70 students vary from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Many of my ELL students come directly from countries such as Haiti, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Canada, and Africa. It is rewarding to see the growth in all of my students from the first day of school to the very last day. It can be a challenge to meet the needs (both educational and social) of my students every year but it is a challenge that I welcome!
My Project
Having an iPad and an Apple Pencil, it will allow me to create instructional videos to post to our school's learning management system for students to access. When teaching remotely, I will be more flexible in how I deliver instruction and improve student engagement.
When presenting my screen to my students, instruction will seem like they're right in the classroom with me while I'm working on the SmartBoard!
They would be able to see me in real time working on a problem and ask questions as I'm delivering instructions. I would be able to stop, erase, switch focus, show more examples as they are learning.
Remote Learning is just circumstance of our current society, but having these materials would make the most out of that circumstance while making it easier to service all of my students.
