This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Working at a Title I school makes it hard for us to have new and engaging equipment that students are actually excited about. The balls we do have are disformed and old and the fun equipment that the students love, belong to PE and are not allowed to be used at recess. There is not much for students to do without getting bored and then they are making choices that are not the most productive, or the safest! We have three recesses per day that students have to get through and they get bored playing tag every recess, swinging on the same swings every recess from Kindergarten to 6th grade, or going down the same slides day after day, year after year without anything new or exciting for them to do. I would love to have more options for kids to be active and learn better social skills.
