This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a diverse community. My school is safe place where all members of our diverse community learn side by side with one another. My classroom is an ICT classroom where students with special needs are integrated into a general education classroom.
It is my school's mission to welcome and celebrate all peoples and to nurture them to be more reflective, cooperative, and kindhearted.
More than 96% of our students are poor enough to qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
These books will be used during read alouds and shared reading, where our students will read along, listen, and engage with these books. Many of our 2nd graders are behind in their reading skills due to the COVID pandemic and remote learning last spring. These books will help boost our student's phonics and phonological awareness skills and also help them become better readers. These books will also provide authentic learning opportunities for our students to continue to practice their phonics and phonological awareness skills and will also promote our students engagement as well.
