My Project

Hi, I am a library media specialist. I am a teacher, librarian, and reading LOVER. I want to help my students who are English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities feel more confident when interacting in a whole group setting.

I believe that when students are engaged, they are more apt to participate and enjoy learning.

These products will help in a couple ways. First, the microphone ball will help all my students get a voice in the library. When asking questions or eliciting comments, I am hoping ALL our students will feel better about sharing. It brings a little fun into their day. Second, the whisper phones are great for ANYBODY but especially for English Language Learners. They can hear what they sound like when they are reading aloud. It is often found that students can correct themselves because they hear their errors without the embarrassing read aloud. Finally, students with disabilities are often over-stimulated. The headphones will help them to listen, but block out some of the noise around the room.

I hope that my project will get funded. It will fully benefit the students who need communication and socialization the most.
