Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love being an educator and seeing smiling faces enter our building every day. After the lack of personal learning during the pandemic, I noticed my students' social, emotional, and motivation for learning have been significantly impacted. Maintaining attention and engagement has been a complex challenge as an educator. My resources have become rundown and outdated. I want to motivate students with learning using updated materials while making connections to how and what they read, helping build ideas for what and who they want to be as they continue their path of becoming lifelong learners. I want to provide students with resources they are excited about reading while engaging in oral and written responses that build a background for what their future holds. My goal is for students to dream bigger by understanding what the world has to offer them, socially, culturally, and academically, while maintaining an open mind to career opportunities through the love of reading.
