My Project

What I enjoy most about my classroom is how unique, curious, and full of life each of my students and support professionals are. Each one brings their own strengths, challenges, and passions into our classroom, and it’s my job to help those shine. Many of my students have niche interests that make them light up, and I’ve learned that when I take time to notice and celebrate those, it builds trust and joy in learning. That’s why I’ve chosen materials like the Numberblocks sets, which connect directly to something my students already love and turn math into a meaningful, engaging experience that helps them feel confident and successful.

Regulation is key in our classroom which is why the sensory paths and balance stones are in my project.

These items will help my students regulate their bodies and emotions, giving them a way to move, calm down, and refocus when they need it most. The STEM Bins will allow them to explore and create with their hands, encouraging problem-solving and independence in a way that feels like play. Art materials like the Crayola paints and dabbers will let them express themselves and share their stories, even when words are hard to find.

As a first-year teacher in an all-Autism classroom, these resources will help me create a space that feels inclusive, calming, and full of possibility. Every item supports my goal of building a classroom where all students feel seen, supported, and excited to learn. Ultimately, a place where their individuality is not just accepted but celebrated.
