My students need hands-on math center activities and manipulatives to help them practice their multiplication facts and engage with the material in a fun and stimulating way. This will help them grow as mathematicians!

My Students
Teaching in a low-income community school in Harlem has many challenges, both to our students and our school. However, as their teacher I strive to give my students a meaningful and engaging academic experience.
My students are curious problem solvers who love a challenge in the classroom.
My students come from very diverse challenging backgrounds. However, they still strive to impress not only myself, but also, each other with the gains they take away each day. It is my daily goal to motivate my students and prepare them to have the best possible academic experience in my classroom.
My Project
The use of white boards and math centers will help my students engage with their multiplication facts in a way that can not be done with pencil and paper. My students will use these activities during our math zone time to explore what they know and build on it. By using these tools, students will have a hands on learning experience that will allow them to enjoy practicing their math skills, while still preparing them for success in the third grade.
Your generous donation to our project will help build our math zones and provide us with tools that our students normally would not have access to.
These tools could help change the way my students engage with mathematics and help them build their confidence as scholars.
