This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since the introduction of Smart TVs in the classroom, the energy and excitement from students have skyrocketed. Every morning, they walk into class eagerly anticipating what the day’s lesson will look like. Having a Smart TV will help my students in ways that go beyond just the tech. For one, it caters to the diversity of learning styles in our classroom. Some students learn best visually, others by doing, and others through discussion. With Smart TVs, we can easily switch between different types of media—videos, diagrams, interactive apps, and even live discussions—all within the same lesson.

It makes learning more inclusive and helps each student find the way that works best for them.

These resources also help to make learning more engaging and memorable. When students are engaged, they retain information longer. When they watch a video on how photosynthesis works, for example, it’s not just a passive activity. They can interact with it—pause, replay, ask questions, or participate in a group discussion afterward.

Smart TVs foster collaboration in ways that bring my students together. They are not just isolated at their desks but can easily share their work, participate in group activities, and engage in discussions that are displayed for everyone to see. They can work together on projects, brainstorm ideas, and solve problems as a team—all on the big screen. This kind of interactive, collective learning environment helps them build crucial communication and teamwork skills while also boosting their confidence in sharing their ideas.
